The Billings Outlaws are Headed to the Arena Bowl

In their first season in the Arena Football League (AFL), the Billings Outlaws are heading to the Arena Bowl, thanks to a game-winning field goal from kicker Bailey Giffen at home in Billings, Montana.

“Mentally I was preparing for some kind of kick in the minute leading up to it just based on game flow. When I thought we had a penalty, I was taking a few warmup swings to find a rhythm, and the coach pulled me aside and asked, ‘You got this?’ ” explained Giffen.   “I told him no matter what I’d give him my best,” he continued.

“As the ball left my foot and I saw the flight I knew it was good. The feeling after is something I haven’t felt too many times before as this is the first time I’ll be playing in a championship.,” Giffen said.

Billings will now face the Albany Firebirds in the Arena Bowl at American Dream Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In the semi-final, Albany beat Salina, 80-59.
