A Historic Goal for a Montana Tech Player

The goal would mark the first for Cross this season and was assisted by Tyler Stodden.

“He [Tyler Stodden] was bringing it [the puck] down into U of M’s zone right as I got onto the ice and I raced down after him. He brought it behind the net and popped the puck out from the battle behind the net right to where I had dropped down in front of the net where I took the shot and stuffed it in,” Cross, who went on to talk about the significance of the score.

“The goal meant quite a bit to me to score against The University of Montana not only because it was my first goal of the season, it was also my last game of the season as I will be studying abroad in Australia for the next semester, “ Cross said.

Montana Tech’s Goaltending

Tech’s Ed Kazmierczak started the game and made 23 saves on 33 shots, while Brecken Kasse came into the game in the third period and made 30 saves on 33 shots. In Total, UM recorded 66 shots on goal, while Tech blasted 31 at the net.

“I  just came in and played my game and didn’t let the score that was already there affect me,” said Kasse on coming into the game in relief…he continued, “They [UM] had good clean, crisp passing and good team chemistry,”
