Orcas Island High School Baseball Wins District Championship

Orcas Island High School (OHS) topped Cross Point 12-6 in the District Championship game today.

The win gives OHS the District 1/2/3/4 crown. Orcas reached the championship game after topping Rainer Christian 11-1 on Tuesday.

Post-Game Thoughts from the Orcas High School Dugout

“Our boys definitely earned this win. Everything they have worked so hard for - through bad weather, maintaining good grades as student athletes, tough competition, and long long travel days - they deserved it” said Coach Eli Sanders.

He continued, “We can’t afford to celebrate too long. State is right around the corner. And there are NO bad teams at this level,”

“Now, I’m just hoping the seeding selection committee recognizes how good we are, and gives us a #1 seed into Regionals, Sanders explained.

The State Baseball Championship tournament will be held May 24-25 at Johnson-O’Brien Stadium in Ephrata, Washington.
