Bozeman Stingers Take on Jackson Hole Moose in Epic Showdown

By Merrick Parnell

The Bozeman Stingers are gearing up for a pivotal home game this weekend against a league powerhouse.

Stingers and Moose in Bozeman

The Bozeman Stringers of the Senior A, Black Diamond Hockey League (BDHL) will host the Jackson Hole Moose in a two-game series this weekend in Bozeman on February 9th and 10th. Bozeman hopes to build on the success of their last game against the Moose, where they beat Jackson Hole 5-4 back on December 16th in Wyoming. The win also gave the Stingers a series split and was their first win against the Moose in several years.

Bozeman enters this weekend’s series striving to avenge two losses against the Sun Valley Suns the week prior. One of those games against the Suns was played in the breathtaking beauty of Big Sky, Montana, on the Marty Pavelich Outdoor rink. You can read that article here.

“I think the big thing going into this weekend is that we get a better start than we did against Sun Valley! We play better as a team when we play loose and get to work,” said Bozeman’s Cody Blom. He continued, “Jackson Hole is a good team, but Friday and Saturday will be a good test to show we can play with the top digs. Jackson Hole is going to be hungry after our last victory.”

Friday will be Youth Hockey Night at the Bozeman Game

Friday’s game against the Stingers, the Stingers will host their first ever “Youth Hockey Night.” Free admission will be available to any youth player who arrives in a hockey sweater (jersey).

“We hope to connect the Bozeman Stingers to the local Icedogs youth organization and regularly bring more fans to the rink. One of our players, Sam Coulter, is the youth hockey director here in Bozeman, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the relationship between our youth programs and the Stingers organization,” said Kyle Toliver, a player and spokesperson with the Stingers.

For both games on Friday and Saturday, Warmups start at 7:45 with an 8:15 puck drop at the Hayes Pavillion. Beer snacks and merchandise will be available at the rink, and tickets are just $10. Tickets are available online or at the door. For more info, check out: bozeman-stingers.com
