University of Washington Hockey Secures Top Seed in PAC 8 Tournament

A Succesful Regular Season for the University of Washington Husky Hockey Club

The University of Washington Husky Hockey team will begin the postseason as the number one seed in the PAC-8 Tournament.

The 2023-2024 PAC-8 tournament will take place this weekend at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. A 15-1 regular season record earned the University of Washington (UW) side the top seed in the conference playoffs. UW had split a series with the #4 team in the West Region, Loyola Marymount University. This season, the Huskies also took on their American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I team, the University of Oregon.

According to their Head Coach, Matt Cleeton, UW’s goals from here on out are simple: win the PAC-8 tournament and qualify for the West Regional, either by winning their conference tournament or being high enough in the rankings.

“We have been working on many things during the season to give our guys the tools they need to be successful on the ice so we can play great team defense and not be one-dimensional on the offensive side of things”, said Cleeton.
