The British Columbia Hockey League’s (BCHL) Prince George Spruce Kings will hold a 2024 Prospects Camp in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia (BC) this June.
The 2024 Prince George BCHL Prospects Camp
From June 7th-9th, the club will host their camp at Abbotsford’s Summit Centre.
“We have added Abbotsford as a location for one of our prospect camps as we have had great success in recruiting from the lower mainland and wanted to make our team more accessible to players from Southern Alberta and Northwestern United States,” said Spruce King’s President David Keough.
The club’s prospects camps have played a valuable role in Spruce King’s player development.
“We use our prospects camp to find players who can attend our main training camp in early September to fight for a spot on our team or even possibly earn a roster spot through their play at the prospects camp,” said General Manager Mike Hawes.
The Spruce Kings’ Prospects Camp, a Valuable Experience
“For players that are a little bit younger and understand that they’re not quite ready for the BCHL, it is a good opportunity for them to show their ability and to gain valuable experience on what the level of play is and what is required to play in the BCHL, ” Hawes continued.
According to the club, the camp is open to 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 birth year players, and players must be rep-level players or above. All players will also be responsible for their transportation and accommodations.
