Sumner Faces Off Against Rogers in Intense Washington State High School Lacrosse Matchup

By Tim Luce, Washington State High School Lacrosse Correspondent

Starting the Rams off Monday (April 29, 2024) with a solo shot from Sophmore, (#15) Hayden Kent. Rogers maintained through the 1st , ending in 3-3. From there, Sumner crept away, scoring three unanswered in the 4th to finish 10-5 over the Rams. Kent praises his defense for sticking in there the whole game. Particularly Sophmore (#27) Braden Matt, who finished the game with more than a handful of forced takeaways for his Ram defense. Still, attackmen Senior (#10) Weston Gillispie and Senior. (#5) Jackson Friesel attacked the cage often, which made for a very busy Goalie, Freshman, (#29)  Cannon Seachriest battling for the Rams. In the end, Hayden Kent votes for #honorthegame to Spartan Goalie Sophomore (#16) Logan Sterrenburg for his time in the crease tonight.

Stepping into a leadership role as a sophomore, #22 Dalton Sterrenburg ran the field for Sumner tonight as they defeated Rogers 10-5 in a #spsl4a matchup. Sterrenburg played at midfield, delivering assists and even getting one past the freshman goalie, (#29) Cannon Seachriest. Dalton assisted Junior, (#6) Ace Redding, and Senior (#5)  Jackson Friesel. At some point, all three came in contact with Sophmore. #27 Braden Matt on defense. Braden “B” Matt had the most turnovers in the game, and although his Rams fell short, he still earned #honorthegame from Sterrenburg tonight.
