Friday Night Showdown: Washington State High School Lacrosse Quarterfinals

This Friday at 8 PM,  South Puget Sound’s top-ranked (#1) Curtis Vikings hosts King County’s third-ranked team and 2023 4A champions, the  Mount Si Wildcats, in a “win or go home” high school lacrosse matchup.

The ‘Cats are coming off a Round one victory over Lake Steven’s, while Curtis was awarded a bye. 

Both teams are loaded with talent. Mt. Si defenseman Jr. #10, Will Kalmbach, made the first team KingCo. All conference and was the only Freshman in 4A to make all conference team 2. Fr. #7, Liam Mumford, also leads the team in points per game. 

Three Vikings made SPSL All-Conference team 1, including Sr. #15, Rocco Koch, Jr. #2, Peter Stewart, and defensive captain Jr. #1, Charlie Phelps. Curtis impressively has players on the second team, as well as defensemen #4, Jack May, Jr. #3, John McLain, Sr. #6, Max Graybar, and points leader So. #5, Jayden Gravseth. 

The team that wins will play the winner between Richland and Eastlake in the State Semifinals on 5/22. The face-off is at 8PM at Curtis High.
