Graham Kapowsin Eagles Battle Rogers Rams in Thrilling Season Finale Showdown

By Tim Luce, Washington State Lacrosse Correspondent

Graham Kapowsin Eagles played the Rogers Rams on May 1st, 2024, to finish out the 2024 season and fight to the absolute end.

Fr. #19, Kase Betz, felt blessed to play the game, and he needed to be going toe to toe with Ram Jr. #44, Tait Peters, the majority of the night at face-off. Betz fielded a number of ground balls, had a handful of takeaways, offered two assists, and scored one goal against Fr. Goalie #29, Cannon Seachriest. The halftime score was 5-5. The Rams came out firing with the trick shooter, So. #15, Hayden Kent, sneaking in an underhanded, behind-the-back. So. #8, Grant Rose found a good look at the top right and nailed it leading the Rams into the 4th ahead.

So. #25 struck 1st, taking the Eagles within four points. Jr. #14, Brody Bovan, caught the rebound from a deflected shot off Eagles So. Goalie #34, Dillan Worton, before taking it coast to coast for a solo goal to narrow the lead. The final minutes of the game were spent maintaining possession for Rams Jr. #99, Gabe Eckhart, and away from defensive captain So. #3, Gunner Stinson. Rogers takes away the victory 9-6 credit due to the efforts of Fr. Goalie #29, Cannon Seachriest, and his ability to stay active in the crease, make wise clears, and not only did he earn respect and #honorthegame from Betz, but he might also have placed a small chip on his shoulder for next season’s matchup
